CROCKETT, Calif. (AP) - Three separate crashes on Interstate 80 in Northern California have left one dead and two paramedics injured.
KTNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1VE7Iig ) that all lanes are once again open after the Thursday morning crashes in Crockett, a community in Contra Costa County near Richmond. California Highway Patrol officer Frank Meranda says all three crashes are likely related, as the initial crash between a truck and an ambulance created a backup on the highway.
The first crash early Thursday injured two paramedics inside the ambulance. As that crash was clearing, a big rig ran into a separate crash involving three vehicles. The big rig crashing into a Mazda, killing the driver.
