LACEY, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a woman and her two children were rescued from the second floor of a burning home in Lacey.
The Olympian reports (https://goo.gl/59qutq ) authorities responded to a fire call Wednesday night and found three people trapped in a bedroom on the second floor.
Lacey Fire District 3 Battalion Chief Tim Hulse says there was fire between them and the home’s exit.
Authorities say a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy caught one of the children who jumped out of the window. The other two were rescued by firefighters on a ladder.
Officials say the family was taken to a hospital for treatment and that one of the children suffered a knee injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
