BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) - Top-seeded Bernard Tomic was knocked out of the Nastase Tiriac Trophy on Thursday, losing to unseeded Robin Haase 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-3 in the second round.

Second-seeded Ivo Karlovic was also eliminated. The big-serving Karlovic lost to unseeded Lucas Pouille 6-3, 6-4, converting only one of his four break points and getting broken three times.

Haase will next face Fernando Verdasco, who defeated qualifier Radu Albot 6-3, 6-1. Pouille will play Paolo Lorenzi, who beat Taro Daniel 6-2, 6-0.

Defending champion Guillermo Garcia-Lopez also reached the quarterfinals, defeating Kyle Edmund 6-3, 6-3, and third-seeded Federico Delbonis beat Illya Marchenko 7-5, 6-2.

Also, sixth-seeded Guido Pella advanced with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Daniel Gimeno-Traver, and Marco Cecchinato defeated Damir Dzumhur 6-3, 7-6 (3).
