JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - Jamestown police say they’re investigating an accident involving a train and a man in a wheelchair at the crossing of Second Avenue.

KQDJ radio reports that a westbound BNSF train was traveling at a low rate of speed on Thursday when a 60-year-old man in a wheelchair crossed in front of the train and was struck.

The man was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police say he was conscious and moving when ambulance crews arrived.

Stutsman County Dispatch says crossings at 2nd Avenue, 7th Avenue and 3rd Street were being closed Thursday afternoon while the investigation continued.
