NORTH HILLS, N.Y. (AP) - Police say the driver of a tractor trailer died after he pulled over on the Long Island Expressway and got caught underneath the truck when it suddenly moved.
Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/1Nm6mWa ) a highway patrol officer came upon the truck around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in North Hills and found 54-year-old Frederick Johnson unresponsive underneath it. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators performed a brake and safety check and believe the parked truck accidentally moved, pinning Johnson.
Police don’t believe there was any criminality involved in the incident.
