CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Charlotte say a Pennsylvania man convicted of fatally running down someone in 2004 is facing new charges after the truck he was driving collided head-on with a car, killing a passenger.

The Charlotte Observer reports (https://bit.ly/1YJmlOV) police charged 31-year-old Christopher Ryan Goss with driving while impaired, and have obtained warrants for felony death by motor vehicle, felony serious injury by motor vehicle, and careless and reckless driving.

Investigators say the truck Goss was driving Wednesday night hit a car head-on in west Charlotte, killing 72-year-old Joyce Burline Hinson.

Court records show Goss pleaded guilty in early 2005 to involuntary manslaughter and careless driving after he and two other men got into a fight with a man. Police say Goss backed up his car and ran over the man.
