CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - A man found a dead body under a Corinth overpass earlier this week.

Corinth Police Chief Ralph Dance says a man’s body was found sometime near 1:10 a.m. Tuesday by a man walking along the road.

Dance tells WTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/1QqsYzB ) the man who discovered the body notified police, and when they got there, Dance says it appears the body had been there for several days.

The man is described as a white male, possibly in his 50’s. Dance says they have not positively identified him yet.

Dance says it appears the man may have fallen from the overpass, possibly due to an accident or suicide. There is believed to be no foul play.

The body will soon be sent for autopsy.

The case remains under investigation.
