YORKTOWN, Va. (AP) - Authorities in York County are looking for a man who stole a donation jar that was intended for the family of a slain Virginia State Police trooper.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance photos of the man who authorities say stole the jar from a 7-Eleven convenience store near Yorktown early Tuesday.

Store owner Margaret Drivas tells WSLS-TV (https://bit.ly/1U7cNhk) she had put out the jar after watching the funeral procession for State Trooper Chad Dermyer pass by the store earlier this month.

Authorities say Dermyer was killed March 31 by a gunman at a Richmond Greyhound bus station while police were holding a counterterrorism training exercise. He is survived by his wife and two children.

It is unclear how much money was inside the stolen donation jar.
