BOSTON (AP) - Several Massachusetts landmarks are illuminated in purple to honor Prince.

The 57-year-old music legend was found dead Thursday at his home in suburban Minneapolis. The cause of death isn’t known.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker asked the state Department of Transportation to light Boston’s Zakim Bridge in purple Thursday night in honor of the pop superstar’s life.

South Station and Government Center in Boston and the Burns Bridge connecting Worcester to Shrewsbury also are lit in purple.

Prince was one of the most inventive and influential musicians of modern times with hits including “Little Red Corvette,” ”Let’s Go Crazy” and “When Doves Cry.”
