ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The executive board of a union representing 53,000 state workers is backing a retroactive one-year contract agreement.

It includes a 2 percent salary increase retroactive to April 1, 2015, for members of the Public Employees Federation.

The union has said it will continue to negotiate for salary increments for future years and other issues including health insurance benefits and job security.

The agreement is subject to approval by the union’s members, who are professional, scientific and technical employees.
