SAN DIEGO (AP) - The San Diego Padres have placed left-hander Robbie Erlin on the disabled list with a strained left elbow, the second starter to be sidelined in the season’s opening weeks.

The move, announced Thursday, is retroactive to Monday.

Erlin is 1-2 with a 4.02 ERA in three appearances, including two starts.

Opening day starter Tyson Ross has been on the DL since April 5 with an inflamed right shoulder.

To take his spot on the roster, the Padres recalled right-hander Leonel Campos from Triple-A El Paso.
