COLUMBIANA, Ala. (AP) - Two Shelby County parents are facing child abuse charges after authorities say they made their young child stay outside for days without enough food or water.
Media outlets report that 33-year-old Matthew Scott Rowe and 34-year-old Catherine Rowe were arrested Monday on child abuse charges in Columbiana.
Authorities say the parents forced their 7-year-old son stay outside for three days and two nights, from March 31 through April 2. An arrest warrant says the couple “failed to properly feed and hydrate the child.”
