FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities say the surviving suspect of a home invasion has been released from the hospital and charged in connection with the incident.

The Times West Virginian (https://bit.ly/1Sw6H7R) reports that 28-year-old John David Grossklaus Jr. was arraigned Wednesday and charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Fairmont Police Chief Steve Shine says Grossklaus was shot by an elderly man whom he attempted to rob Tuesday morning. Another suspect, 28-year-old Larry Shaver, was fatally shot during the incident. A third suspect, 23-year-old Whitney Renay Kabiru, was arraigned Tuesday in connection with the crime.

Grossklaus was transported to a hospital after suffering gunshot wounds. He was released Wednesday.

Shine says Grossklaus is being held at North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County. It’s unclear if he or Kabiru have attorneys.
