NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A boys’ youth organization leader and religious school teacher who admitted to sexually abusing children has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Gregory Aker was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Susan Wigenton after he previously pleaded guilty.

He was arrested in February 2014 for sexual assault and endangering the welfare of two children.

Law enforcement then found computers and electronic storage devices in his Linden home containing more than 600 images and dozens of videos of child sexual abuse.

He was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender.
