INDUSTRY, Calif. (AP) - The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says it has seized more than 4,000 counterfeit hoverboards in the city of Industry.

The department says the hoverboards falsely bear the UL logo that indicates an electronic product has undergone safety testing.

A sheriff’s team specializing in counterfeiting and piracy cases served a search warrant Thursday on a business selling the hoverboards, which are estimated to have a retail value of $1.5 million.

There were no arrests.
