LOS FRESNOS, Texas (AP) - Officials say a crop-dusting helicopter has clipped a power line and crashed in South Texas in an accident that left the pilot critically hurt.

Federal investigators on Friday were expected at the crash site near Los Fresnos, about 10 miles north of Brownsville.

Los Fresnos Fire Department Chief Gene Daniels says the chopper on Thursday hit a power line before crashing into a field. Daniels says the pilot suffered critical burns.

The pilot was transported to a San Antonio hospital. His name and further details on his condition weren’t immediately released.
