DUQUOIN, Ill. (AP) - The logo for the 2016 DuQuoin State Fair gives a nod to the importance of agriculture in the Illinois economy.

State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon unveiled the logo Friday for the fair in southern Illinois. The logo features rolling hills of yellow and green under the fair’s theme “Producing Our Future.”

Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Raymond Poe says the fair will be “an agricultural spotlight for the state’s number one industry.”

Organizers are looking for performers and vendors now. The DuQuoin State Fair is scheduled to open Aug. 27 and run through Sept. 5.

The assistant state fair manager is Tibretta Reiman, who says the fair is “a southern Illinois tradition.”
