DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (AP) - A former guard at an East Tennessee juvenile detention facility is facing charges including statutory rape and official misconduct.

Dandridge Police Chief Carson Williams told WBIR (https://on.wbir.com/1NnVHKN) that Brianna Rose Garber is also charged with sexual battery and bringing alcohol into the Mountain View Youth Development Center. The report said she was arrested Thursday for allegedly having sexual contact with a juvenile inmate.

Williams said police think the alleged incidents happened around February. He said Garber resigned from the facility when the investigation began.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Garber has an attorney.

This version corrects the spelling of the city’s name to Dandridge.
