GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say they are investigating the death of a man who suffered serious burns in a Greeley apartment fire.
The Greeley Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1VKyFQH ) that the Weld County Coroner said Wednesday that 69-year-old Kenneth Abel Jr. died at a hospital April 14.
Authorities say the April 6 fire had been contained to Abel’s second-story apartment and that crews were able to remove the man. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Fire Marshal Dale Lyman has said Abel may have started the fire by smoking while also using oxygen therapy.
The fire caused about $10,000 in damage.
