BRENDA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man in La Paz County is accused of shooting a father and daughter in an act of road rage.

Sheriff’s Lt. Curt Bagby says that Paul George, of Brenda, was being held Friday on two counts of aggravated assault.

According to sheriff’s deputies, George was driving home to an RV park on Thursday when he passed another driver on Highway 60.

The 80-year-old driver and his 45-year-old daughter, who was a passenger, became upset by how he allegedly drove past him.

They followed George and began yelling at him.

The verbal altercation escalated with George allegedly pulling out a pistol and shooting them.

Bagby says the victims were airlifted to a hospital and had to undergo surgery.

Both are expected to survive.
