HARVEY, La. (AP) - An Avondale man has been indicted in connection with the stabbing death of his 14-year-old nephew.

Local media outlets report prosecutors say a Jefferson Parish grand jury indicted 59-year-old Tyrone Dorsey on Thursday with second-degree murder in the death of Darrius Wooden.

The jury also charged Dorsey with two counts of aggravated battery in the stabbings of Wooden’s older brother and his 79-year-old grandmother.

The stabbings occurred Jan. 3. Authorities say Dorsey told deputies he had been smoking crack cocaine that day before arriving at the Avondale home where the victims lived.

Dorsey is accused of using a knife to repeatedly stab Wooden as he was asleep. Dorsey is also accused of stabbing 21-year-old Brandon Wooden and Marguerite Wooden.

Wooden was pronounced dead at a hospital.
