NEW YORK (AP) - New York City police have arrested a man in the shooting deaths of three people, including a bystander, during a drug turf war.

Allen Cooper was arrested in Fayetteville, North Carolina and brought to New York on Friday after police got a tip on his whereabouts. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

Authorities say he’d been on the lam about seven months.

Calvin Clinkscales, Lacount Simmons and 76-year-old bystander Herbert Brown were killed in September in Brooklyn.

Police say Cooper was a drug dealer.

Clinkscales and Simmons were part of a group that had been selling pot and crack in the area for years. Police say Cooper was trying to move in.
