IRONDALE, Ala. (AP) - Police are searching for a man after a woman was found beaten to death in central Alabama.
Local news media report that 42-year-old Melinda Searight was killed Friday morning. Det. Sgt. Michael Mangina says Searight was found unresponsive on her bedroom floor with her three daughters in nearby rooms.
Authorities say Searight was repeatedly struck in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Searight was dating the suspect, who identity has not been released. Mangina says the suspect is not considered dangerous to the public.
Police say the slaying was domestic related.
