BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a 3-year-old child has drowned in a Biloxi home’s swimming pool.

Local media outlets report emergency crews found the unidentified child unresponsive in the pool Wednesday afternoon.

Police Chief John Miller says the child fell into the pool and didn’t resurface. The child was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

Miller says a preliminary investigation shows the child died from an accidental drowning.

Police haven’t released any other information.
