HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say six men have been charges in four heroin overdose investigations.

The U.S. attorney announced Friday that the charges stem from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.

Among those charged is 35-year-old Jonathan Fisher, of Norwich; 29-year-old Jorge Morales, of Shelton; 33-year-old Timothy Paprocki, of Ledyard; 43-year-old Rudy Hernandez, of New London; 23-year-old Daniel Gamero, of Hartford; and 19-year-old Charlie Tacuri, of Hartford.

Authorities say they traced at least five overdose deaths to the defendants, who either sold or provided heroin or fentanyl to the overdose victims.

All of the defendants are in police custody. It’s unclear whether they have attorneys who could comment on the charges.
