CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - A man has been charged in the death of a woman whose body was found in a Conway motel room.
An employee at the Days Inn found the body of 41-year-old Susan Stubbs lying face down on the floor of the room just before 6:30 p.m. March 6.
Police said in a court affidavit filed Friday that Stubbs died of strangulation after a cord was wrapped around her neck by her boyfriend, 53-year-old Scotty Gardner.
Gardner has been charged with capital murder. He had been initially been held on a charge of second-degree murder in Stubbs’ killing.
It was not immediately clear if Stubbs has an attorney.
