LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a woman is dead after falling from a third-floor balcony outside her apartment.

Authorities say 54-year-old Jocelyn Healey, of Lewiston, apparently was standing on a small ladder attempting to hang something when she lost her balance and fell over the rail.

The Lewiston Sun Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1psysnw ) that first responded tried to revive Healey when they arrived Friday afternoon, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there is no sign of foul play.

Lewiston Police Lt. Danny LaChance called it “an unfortunate accident.”
