LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say one man was killed and a teenager and a pickup truck driver were injured in a three-vehicle crash involving a big-rig truck in Las Vegas.
The crash happened Monday morning when police say a Dodge Dakota pickup ran a red light and struck a Ford Escort and a Freightliner semi-truck at the busy Nellis Boulevard and Washington Avenue intersection east of downtown.
A 60-year-old man driving the Escort died in the wreck. His name wasn’t immediately made public.
Firefighters extricated a 19-year-old passenger, who was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries.
Police say the pickup driver, 39-year-old Moroni Calvo of Las Vegas, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The driver of the big-rig wasn’t hurt.
Charges weren’t immediately filed. Police say the crash remains under investigation.
