DENVER (AP) - The new train service between downtown Denver and the airport was down for about an hour Tuesday because of a malfunctioning switch.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/9knFtB ) the A-Line train service stopped at the Gateway Station at about 4:20 p.m., and passengers boarded shuttles to the airport. The service resumed about an hour later.

Nate Currey, a spokesman for the Regional Transportation District, says the malfunction is common on train systems across the country and can usually be fixed quickly.

Train service between downtown and Denver International Airport opened to the public Friday.
