OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say they plan to file new charges against a 19-year-old driver following the death of a pedestrian.

The Olympian reported Monday (https://bit.ly/1XUYf3m) that Jared Grant Dishon will now face a vehicular homicide charge when he is arraigned May 3. He had initially faced two counts of vehicular assault, but the Thurston County Prosecutor’s Office says one of the charges will be changed following the death of 61-year-old Maria “Dancing Heart” Hoaglund. Hoaglund died Friday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, a day after she was struck.

Police say Hoagland and a man were in the crosswalk when they were hit last Thursday by the truck driven by Dishon. The other person hit suffered broken ribs and a hip fracture, according to documents. Documents also show that Dishon was under the influence of medication and marijuana.
