Woman dies after hitting tree at Breckenridge Ski Resort

FRISCO, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a Denver woman was killed when she hit a tree during closing weekend at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

The Summit Daily reports (https://goo.gl/udhNc5 ) 20-year-old Catherine Abeyta crashed on the intermediate Monte Cristo run on Peak 7 on Sunday. County Coroner Regan Wood says the woman, who was wearing a helmet, died of blunt-force injuries.

Abeyta graduated from Denver’s George Washington High School in 2014.
