MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele says the Show Dome at Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory will reopen two days earlier than the target date.

The Milwaukee landmark commonly known as the Domes was closed in February after a piece of debris fell inside one of the three structures in late January.

The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1SzBWNg ) reports Abele said Tuesday the Show Dome will reopen to the public Friday. The Show Dome now has a mesh inner lining to catch any concrete that breaks off.

Officials said the Arid and Tropical domes will next get mesh lining, and work for each is expected to last six to eight weeks. The Domes should all be open by end of summer.
