PHOENIX (AP) - Classes at one of Glendale Community College’s two campuses were cancelled for hours after a fatal car crash near the school’s entrance.
Phoenix police say 26-year-old Shelby Hockersmith died from her injuries after the accident early Wednesday on Happy Valley Road.
Police say the car Hockersmith was driving drifted off the road, struck a light pole and overturned about 3:40 a.m.
Detectives are investigating to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
School officials say classes at Glendale Community College North resumed at noon.
