MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - A former northern New Jersey high school teacher who admitted to having sex with an 18-year-old student has officially lost her teaching license.
NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/241QEaq ) 33-year-old Nicole McDonough officially gave up her teaching certificates this month and will be barred from serving as a teacher in state.
The Mount Olive woman was arrested in December 2014 after Morris County prosecutors and Mendham police said she had sex with a student while serving as an English teacher at West Morris Mendham High School.
She pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree official misconduct. McDonough admitted she had sex twice with an 18-year-old student in 2014 and knowingly violated school policy. She must serve three years supervised probation in a pre-trial intervention program.
