GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Eight people have been indicted in a drug conspiracy that federal prosecutors have tied to a homicide in Grand Forks.

Twenty-four-year-old Austin Forsman was shot while sitting in a car in the parking lot of a Grand Forks truck stop on March 11. The indictment says the drug ring “used violence and the threat of violence to further the conspiracy,” including Forsman’s death.

Court documents say one of the defendants was selling large quantities of meth in the Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota area. All eight defendants face maximum sentences of life in prison without parole.

Thirty-one-year-old Krystal Feist of Grand Forks is charged with Forsman’s murder and could face life in prison if convicted. Feist is not named in the federal drug indictment.
