AMES, Iowa (AP) - One southbound lane of Interstate 35 has reopened after officials had to close the roadway near Ames due to a dip in the pavement.
Des Moines television station KCCI reports (https://bit.ly/1pFjOco ) authorities reopened a lane around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, while the right lane remains closed for repairs.
The roadbed had been undermined and washed away in a construction zone about two miles south of U.S. Highway 30. Iowa Department of Transportation officials are on the scene to check on repair options.
