LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say SWAT officers serving search warrants in a narcotics sweep arrested 16 suspects including an alleged kingpin suspected of focusing his drug sales on Skid Row.

KABC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1NTmdqf ) the federal Drug Enforcement Administration assisted police in executing 20 warrants before dawn Wednesday in Cerritos.

Police say Derek Turner surrendered at his home and was arrested along with his wife, son and daughter. Turner is suspected of leading an operation that sells cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin on Skid Row. It wasn’t immediately known if he has a lawyer.

Investigators say they had been tracking Turner for some time.
