LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Police officers shot and killed a man they say fired at them during a foot chase in Lakewood.

Department officials say the officers found a stolen vehicle in a motel parking lot Tuesday night and watched as 28-year-old Robin Alan Barber approached it. Barber ran when he was confronted and shot at the officers, who returned fire, killing him.

None of the officers was injured.

Police spokesman Ty Countryman tells The Denver Post that three officers have been put on paid administrative leave, which is standard policy in an officer-involved shooting.

A woman who was a passenger in the car was questioned and released.
