BANGOR, Maine (AP) - The state medical examiner’s office has identified a 21-year-old man whose body was found in the Penobscot River as Maine Maritime Academy student David Breunig.

The medical examiner’s report says Breunig’s death was accidental and caused by drowning and hypothermia.

The Westbrook resident went missing on Feb. 26 and was last seen walking toward a railroad bridge in Orono.

Maine Warden Service spokesman Cpl. John MacDonald has said Breunig’s body was recovered by Bangor firefighters near Sea Dog Brewing and Interstate 395.
