ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) - Police say they have charged a Rockland woman after a neighbor found her 3-year-old son lying in a drainage ditch with nail polish on his body.

WMTW-TV (https://bit.ly/1T4TWhN ) reports police recovered the boy after a call from a neighbor on Saturday. An officer later found the mother, 27-year-old Mandy Dennison, asleep in an apartment.

The boy’s grandmother picked him up after Dennison was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violating conditions of release.

It was unclear on Wednesday if Dennison had a lawyer.
