HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - More workers at Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families are receiving layoff notices.

The Office of Policy and Management announced Wednesday that 14 employees at the state child welfare office received pink slips.

To date, 127 DCF workers have been laid off as part of a plan to help cover the projected $922 million deficit in next fiscal year’s approximate $20 billion budget.

So far, a total of 560 executive branch and 126 judicial branch workers have received layoff notices. The most layoffs have been issued at the Department of Correction, with 186, followed by DCF.

The Office of Policy and Management says additional job cuts throughout state government will be announced in the coming days.
