NEW YORK (AP) - Prosecutors say a woman accused of attacking and robbing a 103-year-old woman in her New York City apartment building has been indicted.

Bronx prosecutors say Sharon McNeil pleaded not guilty Wednesday to robbery, assault and other charges.

They say McNeil followed Louise Signore, who is legally blind, into her apartment building in the Co-Op City section of the Bronx on April 1 and then attacked her in a hallway.

Authorities allege McNeil knocked Signore the ground and stole her shopping cart with the victim’s purse, a treasured magnifying glass and two meals she had just picked up from a local community center.

Prosecutors say Signore was left on the floor, screaming for help. McNeil was arrested a day after the attack.

Her attorney didn’t immediately return a call for comment.
