CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - A Benton County Commissioner has been cited for driving under the influence and released.

The Gazette-Times reports (https://is.gd/o5QPrl ) that Commissioner Annabelle Jaramillo was cited Tuesday in Corvallis for DUII after a traffic stop.

Jaramillo told the newspaper on Wednesday that she was stopped and cooperated fully. She said she has an attorney and will be dealing with the incident as quickly as possible.

Philomath Police Chief Ken Rueben says Jaramillo was stopped after her vehicle hit the curb at an intersection and drove down the middle of the road. He says she submitted to field sobriety tests and was taken into custody without incident. She was cited and released.

The case is pending prosecution. Since it involves an elected official, a special prosecutor will be assigned to the case.
