TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say four people were injured when a car crashed through the entrance of a Los Angeles County gym.
Witnesses tell the Daily Breeze newspaper (https://bit.ly/1VWrzZF) that the driver, a woman in her 70s, may have been trying to park in a handicapped space when she lost control.
People in the Torrance gym say they heard what sounded like a loud explosion and saw glass and debris fly into the workout area. The car went through a wall and one person was pinned against a vending machine.
Four victims were hospitalized in unknown condition. Witnesses tell the newspaper at least one person suffered multiple compound fractures to a leg.
The driver was not hurt.
The crash is under investigation.
