GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - A Hudson Valley man is accused of kidnapping four women and sexually assaulting them in his apartment over the course of several months.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/1YV6rRo ) 49-year-old Theodore Edward pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, rape, sex trafficking and related offenses.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler says Edwards kidnapped or unlawfully imprisoned four women at his Newburgh apartment between last August and March 16. He says Edwards forced three women into sex acts with other people and posted ads on a website offering the women for sex acts.

He’s been held in jail since his April 4 arrest. Judge Nicholas De Rosa set bail at $1 million.

Edwards is due back in court on May 12.
