BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A Pittsburgh-area man has been fatally shot after going to visit his ex-girlfriend in Washington County.

Authorities say 38-year-old Brian Wilbert, of Crafton, was shot about 9 p.m. Wednesday at a home in Burgettstown. That’s about 25 miles west of Pittsburgh.

Wilbert died early Thursday after being flown for treatment to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. An autopsy was set later in the day.

Police didn’t offer details beyond the reason for his visit, and have declined to say whether they have a suspect or planned to charge anyone in the shooting. But police have confirmed finding a knife and small-caliber gun at the home.
