DUMMERSTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say an 88-year-old woman has died in a crash involving a flatbed truck and two cars.

Police say Charlene Higgins of Newfane was a passenger in a car that was on southbound Route 30 in Dummerston on Tuesday afternoon. A northbound car driven by 54-year-old Dean Tkaczyk of Dummerston collided with the vehicle after it was hit from behind by the truck and pushed into the southbound lane.

Tkaczyk and the driver of the other car, 48-year-old Andrea Fields of Newfane, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, 33-year-old Steven Morin of Richmond, New Hampshire, was not hurt.

Police said the road was wet and it was overcast at the time. They are investigating the accident.
