TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police have made an arrest in a shooting in which a 7-year-old boy was wounded while in an apartment at a complex on the city’s south side.

Sgt. Pete Dugan says an adult was arrested in the Wednesday incident, but the police spokesman declined to immediately release any information about the arrested person or the nature of criminal allegations against that person.

Dugan says investigators determined that the boy was shot in the back at least once while he and family members were visiting at least one other relative in the apartment.

Dugan says the boy was reported in stable condition after surgery Wednesday night.
