WAYLAND, N.Y. (AP) - A Steuben County couple faces murder and arson charges after an investigation into a fatal fire.

At a news conference Wednesday, state police said 44-year-old Joseph Meyers and 37-year-old Iryn Meyers were indicted on charges of arson, murder, attempted insurance fraud and conspiracy.

They’re acquaintances of 60-year-old David O’Dell, who died in an early morning house fire in Wayland on Feb. 15.

The couple is in Steuben County Jail awaiting arraignment at a later date.

Attorney Peter Glanville, representing Joseph Meyers, and public defender William Kelley, representing Iryn Meyers, were unavailable for comment.
