KYLE, Texas (AP) - Police say a 16-year-old has been charged with murder after an 18-year-old was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in the Central Texas town of Kyle.

Kyle police say the accused male was booked into the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center late Saturday night. His name wasn’t released because he’s a minor.

Police say 18-year-old Natanaell Bardales was fatally shot in the head on Saturday afternoon as he stood with several people in the yard of a home in Kyle, located about 20 miles southwest of Austin. A vehicle had driven by slowly and fired several shots.

Police say no one else was hurt in the shooting.

Officials, who have not released a motive for the killing, are continuing to investigate.
